Secret Beach
A secluded turquoise cove tucked behind headland bluffs. Natural tidal rock pools, calm waters for swimming, and an idyllic sunset perspective far from the bustling main beach.
Best visited in the afternoon. The descent road is steep — hire a 3-wheeler or enjoy a 15-minute jungle walk through palms.
Coconut Tree Hill
The iconic red-clay cliff promontory lined with towering coconut palms projecting directly into the Indian Ocean. Uninterrupted panoramic vistas of breaking waves and coastline.
Arrive between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM before daytime crowds. The early morning dawn paints the palms in honey-gold light.
Parrot Rock
A dramatic natural red rock outcrop rising out of the bay. Climb the bamboo stairs for breathtaking 360-degree views of the crescent beach, reef breaks, and rolling ocean swell.
Accessible on foot during low tide. Check tidal conditions before crossing the shallow sand spit to avoid wading through high water.
Weligama Surf Bay
A sheltered 2-kilometer crescent bay famous across Sri Lanka for gentle rolling peelers, sandy bottom breaks, and ideal conditions for longboarding and beginner surf instruction.
